A Softer Kind of Christmas

Christmas morning at home, with our tree lit and presents waiting.

Ever since Isaac was born, Christmas usually included an elaborate photoshoot for our holiday cards. Carefully planned outfits, creative concepts, and lots of time spent editing everything to be just right.

This year, the story wasn’t about creating something elaborate. It was about being present.

The past couple of years have been full, with moving, settling, adjusting, and instead of pushing for more, we leaned into something softer and easier.

This was our first Christmas in our new (hopefully forever!) home, and we kept things super simple. Just a tree and a string of lights around the patio door.

Instead of running around and spending most of the day traveling to family, G made delicious eggnog pancakes for breakfast, and we watched Isaac excitedly open presents.

He got almost everything he asked Santa for, minus the drone…

We spent the day together, just the four of us, and ended it with a cozy dinner. No rush. No schedule. No pressure to make it look like anything. It was perfect.

I hope your holiday season held a few quiet moments that felt just as meaningful.
