Wednesday Inspiration

Wednesday Color Inspiration- Waterlily Colors

Yay! Made it to Wednesday (finally!) Yesterday I woke up and I was so confused as to why my  alarm was set for 5am on a Saturday. I turned off the alarm and laid back down. Then, I realized it wasn't Saturday-- It was Wednesday, wait, no, it was only Tuesday. Crap! I was so upset that yesterday was only Tuesday.... that kinda set the stage for the rest of the day...

BUT! Good news! Today is, in fact, Wednesday! The week is half over & I have a new Wednesday Color Inspiration to share (and attempt to paint!)

This one should be really fun to paint!

I'm almost finished with last weeks Color Inspiration painting. It's turning out pretty awesome! I even worked more on the Jellyfish painting. I couldn't hate it anymore, so I tried "fixing" it. Eh, it's okay. Better than before, but I still don't love it. Photos next week of my progress on my recent paintings!

Wednesday Color Inspiration- White Peony

I LOVE this week's Wednesday Color Inspiration!  This peony was photographed at the Chicago Botanic Garden a few years ago and it's one of my favorite shots. I love that the flower is opening up (why yes, Georgia O'Keeffe is one of my favorite painters, thank you for noticing!)

I can't wait to try and paint this one this weekend!

If you love this photo as much as I do, I'm offering prints in my etsy shop. It's part of my new "Big Bloom" series where I feature large macro shots of  big, bright, and beautiful flowers and succulents. You should really check it out! I'm so in love with this new collection!!!

Wednesday Color Inspiration- Succulent

I'm so in love with succulents and I love this shot! This was from one of my many many (many!) trips to the Chicago Botanic Garden. I can't wait to paint this little guy-- I'm hoping I'll get a chance to at least start it this weekend.

Wednesday Color Inspiration- Succulent

If you love this shot as much as I do, you can pick up your own print. I've added it to my etsy shop (yes, I still have my etsy shop!) as part of my new "Big Bloom" series.  You can select the size you want, from 5x7 all the way to 16x20. If you need something larger, or on a canvas (don't worry-- I will be adding those options soon!) Just email or convo me and let me know!

Oh, do me a favor (please!) and check out the rest of my Big Bloom series!

Wednesday Color Inspiration- Desert

This is my most favorite spot that I've ever had the chance to visit. I mean, Hawaii was beautiful and very fun, and Oregon is where my peoples are  (you know, the crafty folk knitting at the bus stop.) But National Monument Valley on the Arizona/Utah border was incredible and absolutely breathtaking. Even the Grand Canyon wasn't as awesome as this place (it comes in a close second though...)

Of course I would visit Arizona and it would rain nearly every day we were there. (360 days of sun and the five days of rain happen when I'm there on vacation.) There were rainclouds in the distance and we got out of the park just before the roads started to flood and become impassible. And yes, it does get so cold that the roads turn crazy icy-- remind me to tell you about my white knuckle ride back to phoenix! (Thank God I wasn't driving!)

I can't wait for this weekend to start painting this!

Wednesday Color Inspiration- Jellies

WednesdayColorInspiration020514.jpg

This shot was taken at the Monterey Bay Aquarium when we were in California last September. What a fun aquarium. ENORMOUS!!! I just wish we had more time to explore it. We were parked on the street and only had an hour on the parking meter. The jellyfish section was my favorite, and this is one of my favorite shots (I love the orange and blue combo!)

I can't wait to try painting this photo!
