My Favorite Friday Finds- Chicago Artists

Happy Friday, friends!!!
This week, I wanted to showcase artists that are local to Chicago. I am a huge fan of buying local and I'm excited that Chicago has sooooo many great artists. I had a tough time trying to keep my list to just nine items/artists. Are you thinking what I'm thinking? Why, yes, I will do another Friday Finds featuring more Chicagoland artists! I'm glad we're on the same page!

Here are just a few of my favorites:

My Friday Favorite Finds- Chicago Artists

1. Pink Butterfly Necklace

2. Meterbox Terrarium

3. Make it Happen Wood Box Art Print

4. Oatmeal Honey Soap

5. Rustic Green Ceramic Tea Set

6. Peacock Pillow

7. Felt Cactus Plant

8. Designer Light Green Turquoise Ring

9. Peach Floral Infinity Scarf with Lace

Aren't these all great? The meterbox terrarium is a really fun twist on the traditional terrarium. I love the Make it Happen Wood Box Print... I could really use the scarf... (Just so you know, my birthday is in September and I would be thrilled to receive any and all of these items...)

I did pick up the Oatmeal and Honey soap from Good & Honest earlier this week and it's awesome. (I also picked up the Pink Grapefruit and Orange Clove soaps!) Not only did I receive excellent customer service, incredibly fast shipping, and great packaging, but all the soaps smell sooooo nice and lathers really well. I love it! If you love handmade soap, you have to check out this shop.

Do you have a favorite from this list? Or maybe you know another artist from Chicago (or the 'burbs) that is awesome-- let me know in the comments section below! I love hearing about new artists!

My Favorite Friday Finds- Peony

Happy Friday, friends!! I hope you had a great week. I've been stalking the Garden for a few weeks now and I'm officially on Peony Watch. Last week they had big round peony heads that were days away from bursting open. I'm going back this weekend to see if they are finally open!

In the meantime, I found some fantastic handmade peonies on etsy! I just love the watercolor painting (#2) and the peony photograph (#4) and if I wore jewelry, I'd totally be sporting that peony ring!

My Favorite Friday Finds- Garden and Patio

So last weekend I finally got my patio garden started. Can I tell you how much I love it? I've been sitting outside reading and sipping iced coffee every chance I get. I can't help but look around and notice two things: I need more plants! (I have so many planters to fill!) and I would really love to have bird feeders and other decor to make my space feel a little more inviting.

This week I scoured etsy in order to find the perfect handmade or vintage garden & patio decor to add fun accents to my outdoor space. Here are some of my favorites:

My Favorite Things- Handmade Soaps from Wood Folk Soap

Little known fact about me: I love handmade soaps. I mean, I looooooooooooooove them.  To say that I'm a little bit addicted is an understatement. I buy them from etsy all. the. time. They are the number one type of item I purchase (all you handmade soap makers out there, I'm looking for you!)

The other day I was searching for soaps (um, I mean, working...yeah, working...) and I happened upon this shop, Wood Folk Soaps. What drew me to click on their shop was their photography & packaging. I'm not going to lie-- You could have the best soap on the planet, but if your photos look like crap, I'm not going to click on your shop. I know that's pretty harsh, but I can't help it. I'm a girl who loves pretty photography (of course!) and packaging!!! I loved Wood Folk's simple photos that highlighted their soaps, and I love the simple font/design of their wrappers. They also had interesting scents (Earl Grey!) and natural ingredients-- all of which are super important to me as well. I purchased three soaps-- Ginger & Sugar, Green Tea & Flax, and Earl Grey & Almond.

I got them in the mail yesterday-- first of all-- whoa! Super quick shipping! They arrived within a week! Secondly, their packaging was so cute! I LOVE the handwritten note that they included! (it's the little things, friends!)

yay! my soaps arrived! happy mail day to me!

I'm a sucker for pretty packaging!

I can't wait to try these out!

I can't wait to try these out!

You guys, these soaps smell soooooooo good! Not a heavy fake perfumy smell at all. These were nice and light and natural. I ran upstairs with the Ginger & Sugar soap (after I photographed the soaps, of course) and washed my hands right away! What a great feeling soap! I'm soooo glad I got these and I can't wait to try each of them!
